City of Oaks

The city of Raleigh, also known as the ‘The City of Oaks’, is home to many wonderful city parks and lakes, theater and music venues, as well as a myriad of museums such as the Museum of History.

If you’re looking to do some sightseeing or exploring the outdoors, a walking tour of downtown Raleigh is a fun way to explore some of Raleigh’s architecture that include the Briggs Hardware Building, built in the 19th Century.

While you’re in the downtown Raleigh, you can explore Lake Benson Park which is only 10 minutes away from the downtown area.

Lake Benson Park is home to walking trails, picnic areas, playground and grilling areas where family and friends can enjoy a fun weekend.

Attending the NC Symphony orchestra is a great thing to do in Raleigh NC.  The NC Symphony hosts a variety of concert performances in different Raleigh concert halls.

* The NC State Fair is one of the top cultural attractions in Raleigh and a great event to attend for a true North Carolina experience.

The NC State Fair is 10 day event which happens in the 1st or 2nd week of October and it is normally organized over a weekend.
